Mechanisms of resistance to powdery mildew in cucumber

چکیده
Podosphaera xanthii causes powdery mildew of cucumber, and is associated with significant yield quality losses. Development resistant or tolerant varieties the most effective eco-friendly strategy for management. An important host resistance mechanism based on recognition conserved genes, resulting in durable resistance. To determine mechanisms total RNAs were isolated from cultivar Meltem, line VT18, susceptible local variety Camlica. Expression levels nine genes these plants analysed by Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). The reactions assessed using microscope observations stained specimens. Serine/threonine (STN7), transcription factor (WRKY22), serine/threonine-protein kinase (D6PKL1), serine/threonine receptor (NFP) induced, as positive regulators defence against mildew. Polygalacturonase Inhibitor (PGIP) did not express after P. inoculation Camlica, susceptibility. After inoculation, callose synthase (CALLOSE) cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) gene expression increased but Hypersensitive (HR) ROS formation only linked VT18. Powdery development was less Meltem than indicating that cell wall thickening HR play separate roles to this disease.

Loss-of-Function Mutations in CsMLO1 Confer Durable Powdery Mildew Resistance in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)
Powdery mildew (PM) is a serious fungal disease of cucumber worldwide. The identification of resistance genes is very important for resistance breeding to ensure cucumber production. Here, natural loss-of-function mutations at an MLO homologous locus, CsMLO1, were found to confer durable PM resistance in cucumber. CsMLO1 encoded a cell membrane protein, was mainly expressed in leaves and cotyle...

Wheat powdery mildew caused by fungal pathogen Blumeria graminis f.sp. tritici is a destructive wheat disease, occurring in regions with cool and humid climates. In order to investigate the changes in pathogenicity of the disease and to identify the effective genetic source of resistance, a total of 29 wheat genotypes with different resistance major genes (Pm) were studied in two hotspots of Go...
متن کاملCharacterization of resistance mechanisms to powdery mildew (Erysiphe betae) in beet (Beta vulgaris).
Beet powdery mildew incited by Erysiphe betae is a serious foliar fungal disease of worldwide distribution causing losses of up to 30%. In the present work, we searched for resistance in a germplasm collection of 184 genotypes of Beta vulgaris including fodder (51 genotypes), garden (60 genotypes), leaf (51 genotypes), and sugar (22 genotypes) beet types. Resistant genotypes were identified in ...

Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe cichoracearum is an important fungal disease which threatens tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) production. The objective of this study was to determine DNA markers linked to genomic regions associated with resistance to powdery mildew in tobacco through the association mapping approach. Seventy tobacco geno-types were fingerprinted using 26 simple se-quence repeat...
